I get it, you have a blog and want to monetise it, but the thought of being on camera and doing video content just turns you right off. All you hear about is the power of video and showing your face, and you want to be more behind the scenes. This post is for you. I will show you how you can make money from your blog without ever showing your face on camera. It can definitely be done. I do show myself, I’ve done lots of video content, and I have TikTok and Youtube. But, would it surprise you to learn that the majority of the money I make is from not ever showing my face? Let me go through the top 5 ways I make money without ever showing my face, making a phone call, or presenting.

1. Having a high domain authority

When you have a website with a high domain authority, at least over 20, you can make money by hosting guest posts on your site. You have to disclose them properly as an ad or a guest post. You can also get paid to write a post and include a company’s link and get paid to insert a link into an existing post. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, read this post on domain authority.

2. Affiliate marketing

Affiliate marketing is when you sign up to promote a particular shop’s products or services, and by placing their tracking link in your blog or social media posts. You can earn money when someone clicks on the link and buys something. Most of the time, it doesn’t even have to be that particular product or service, as long as it’s a purchase. A good example of a common affiliate is becoming an Amazon associate, you recommend a product, and if they buy anything within 24 hours, you get a commission. This can be great around Christmas time. To sign up for their programme, head to the home page, scroll down and in their footer is a link to the Amazon Associates progamme.

3. Writing for others

Advertise your services as a freelance writer on sites like Upwork and Fiverr. Don’t neglect LinkedIn either, state you are available work and make sure your skills are up to date. I get contacted directly too, and if you do a good job, word of mouth will work for you too.

4. Making videos

I know I said you didn’t have to do a video, but can you turn your passion for baking or crafts into videos that will be super shareable? You only have to share your hands at the most and you can have a viral video. With the rise of text-to-speech, you don’t have to record your own voice on it.

5. Make digital downloads

You can offer digital products for sale directly from your blog, or by opening an Etsy or Creation store. If you’re already designing graphics for your blog or social media, experiment with making digital downloads and see what sells well.

These are just 5 ways to make money from your blog when you don’t want to show your face. Power to the introverts!

Smart ideas here Jenny. I like doing the digital downloads thing as I offer online courses and PDF eBooks. Both are simple to create and yep, there is no need to be on camera to sell either. Writing content and networking freely does the trick. Keep up the good blogging work.
